The Embassy Theatre is a historic venue. There are no elevators to the Loge and Balcony sections. Hearing Assist Devices and Sensory Friendly Kits are available upon request. More DetailsGrammy Award Icons coming to commemorate legacy of Dr. King?s Mountaintop Sermon On June 5, 1963, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. paid his only visit to the Summit City and on April 3, 1968, he gave his final sermon at Mason Temple Church of God in Christ in Memphis, TN before being assassinated the next day. That visit and final sermon will be commemorated on Wednesday April 3rd at the Embassy Theatre by local pastor and activist Rev. Bill McGill. This year's theme is "Back to Dr. King's Mountaintop: A Night of Melody & Unity." He says, "Now more than ever we must keep his message and mission alive, if we hope as a community to not simply survive but thrive. Racism and bigotry keep making their stand, but we will make it to the promised land. Antisemitism continues to expand but we will make it to the promised land!"
